The Jockey Club
Who are we?
The Jockey Club is very well known for its Horse racing but our job is to create awareness about the amazing Conference & Events facilities we have in house. We do have 15 beautiful venues all around the UK, but Cheltenham will be our biggest and most centric one. Located just off the M5 and with Free parking for all delegates, makes it a very good option for any national and regional large event. We can host anything from Private small meetings ( 2-16 people) to conferences of 2280 people in Theatre style. Our Banqueting capacity for private dinners, awards and anything in between is 800/900 people. Large Exhibitions are a big part of our event portfolio due to our main hall , The Centaur, being perfect for it. We also have an incredible outdoor space that allow us to be able to host concerts & Festivals of all sizes! We do host small festival of 5K people as well as concerts for up to 40/50K. Being so versatile is one of the main assets of the courses.
Who will you meet?
Lucia De la Fuente - National C&E Sales Manager
I came to the UK with my University in 2006. The idea was to stay for 6 months and learn English, but that was nearly 17 years ago, so plans changed a little bit! I worked at Malmasion Bham at the reception before I moved to the Radisson so I could work in the Events team. Here I worked in both Operations and Sales for a few years before I moved to the Birmingham Hippodrome to carry on working within the events team. After having my 2 babies while I was here, I then moved to Drayton Manor Hotel and then to Ettington Chase Hotel in Stratford. Something unexpected came up in Birmingham again, and I joined the Bierkeller Group as a Business Development Manager. This role would be more proactive, but I would still look after all the events and its revenue. That was my last role before the Jockey Club as a National C&E Sales Manager, which I absolutely love.
